In July Scgc held a contest for best dressed avatar. It's always fun to hold this contest and see the great looks. The winner for best dressed went to myshaleene. And we asked her a few questions on the win.
1. How did it feel to win the contest?
The truth is that it feels fantastic, i didn't expect it, since there were so many good entries, but here i am the winner, and a very happy one.
2. Is this the first time your won a contest?
This is the first contest that i have enter, but not he first that i won, is just the second one.
I also won the Parade of Homes, third place for modern room.
3. If your a deveolper did you make the dress?
I am a developer , but a new born one, so i didn;t make that spectacular dress.
The developer of the dress is ''thebadkitty'', is a two pieces dress.
4. Do you spend a lot of time chatting on IMVU?
I spend enough time chatting with my friends in imvu, but most of all i spend my time search some new outfits, and taking photos, for contests.
I must admit that i am a imvu fashion victim.
5. And what is your favorite look for your Avatar?
Well is kind of dificult, i supose that the most elegant one is the one i used for the contest, but i have outfits fo any ocasion , and i like them all.

Scgc went fishing for the best mermaid or merman and caught as winner Kchiyou. This was fun contest because myself love the whole mermaid look. Pradgettfarm came in second place in this contest too...Was great to see all mermaids/merman.. Good work all who joined.
1. Why did you decide to entry the best mermaid/merman contest?
i decided to enter the contest because it sounded fun. I was scanning the
forums for something interesting to do and this was the first contest that
really inspired me to recreate my avatar. Plus, i noticed that most of the
other entries were mermaids, so i had to represent the mermans (or is it
mermen?) out there too.
2. Have you won other contests?
This is actually the first contest that I have ever entered in imvu so it
was amazing for me to have won it on my first try. I really didn't think
That I was going to win because some of the other entries were really
amazing. Everyone did a fabulous job.
3. What program to use to do your graphics?
I use photoshop to do all my graphics. i love that program because it's
user friendly even for amateurs like myself. :P
4. Tell us bit about yourself...
I consider myself to be a pessimistic dreamer. I'm a realist who wants to
believe in the impossibles, and yet cannot fool myself. And so, i simply
indulge in my pessimistic dreams (have i lost you yet?), hence my being a
pessimistic dreamer.
5. How long have you been on IMVU?
I'm actually still a newbie on imvu. I created my account last month so I'm
still discovering new things to do. So far, my experience on imvu has been
pretty good, so i'm expecting long, happy relationship with imvu...lol.
6. Where did get your avatar name from?
kchiyou is actually short for king chiyou. king chiyou was a tribal king
for a minority group that was conquered by the Chinese in the distant
past...(not sure on the dates, but a long long time ago). king chiyou was
considered something close to a war god during his time. he fought the good
fight, but ultimately lost. he actually gave himself up to save his people,
but was betrayed and killed. As for his people, they fled and scattered
across Asia.
So i named my avatar kchiyou to keep at least his name, if not his memory,
alive.
Dress my avatar for a formal was a smash hit.. And the outstanding winner was Farrahena. As a developer the detail On the dress was fab.
How did you feel winning dress my avatar formal?
I was actually surprised to win. They were
many beautiful gowns that were entered.
2. What made you enter the contest?
I love dressing my Av to the nines. I couldn't resist the opportunity.
3. Who is the designer of the dress?
AmalteaDarelir did the beautiful gown called "Casino Royale". Her eye for details is just stunning.
4. Is this the first contest you've won?
No
A few here and there really. I am always surprised when I do win. We have so much talent of all ages in IMVU.
5. Tell us about yourself?
Just a mom raising her teen son. My daughter has been through college and is in her career now.
6. Do you develop?
No..lol I don't have the room to even download the previewer on my computer. I'd be rather hard on myself. I wouldn't want to put anything less but good quality products in the catalog.

Blackf1ame won the Best Fairy outfit, ScgC Magazine love the fantasy contests and great that with IMVU we can live out our dreams.
1. Was the win for best fairy a huge surprise to you?
Actually, yes it was. The picture that I entered is an older piece that I made before I really knew how to use gimp to it's full potential, so I'd like to think that I'm better now :P Lol But yeah, it's always nice to be recognized for older pieces, just helps emphasize that you were on the right track lol.
2. What made you enter this contest?
Well I'm always up for entering any contests that I know I have the outfit and styles for so I usually try to enter a good handful of contests to show off my work and see if anything comes out of it :)
3. Are you a developer? If so did you make the outfit?
Yes I am a developer, but I've barely started. Infact at this moment in time I only have one sticker in my products lol. I would love to venture further into dev work but currently alot of my time is swallowed up by my day job :(. The outfit was actually made by one of my favourite dev's, DreamWeaver1.
4. If you where a real fairy what name would you have?
Hrm..well contrary to my contest entry, I'm a pretty dark and gothic person so I would like to think that my username, Black Flame would be a pretty cool fairy name also :)
5. Have you won other contests? If so what?
I've placed in a handful of contests here and there both on IMVU and within my modeling community (Dark Elegance/DE Modeling) so it would be difficult for me to name any specifics
